There are basically two types of Divorce records:

-Divorce decree- This document is prepared by the court, stating the terms and conditions of the divorce. It is signed by the judge and filed with the County Clerk of the County where the decree was issued.

-Divorce certificate- This document contains basic information about the husband and wife along with the date and place the where marriage ended. Certified copies of a Divorce Certificate are official copies issued by court on the state or County level.

If the Country where you will be submitting your US issued divorce decree or certificate is a signing member of the Apostille Section of the Hague Convention it will require an Apostille in order to be recognized as valid.
